| WMU is the umbrella for the mission organizations in our church including Women on Mission, Youth on Mission, Girls in Action, and Mission Friends. It includes missionstudy, mission prayer and mission action. This is an active organization that is continually at work doing missions, with the task of encouraging the church as a whole to be involved in missions in our community, state, nation and around the world.
WMU has been an active organization at FBC having been organized by Mrs. W. B. J Hardman in 1882 - always with a strong emphasis on supporting our missionaries.
WMU promotes the emphasis on prayer and giving to support our missionaries both internationally, in the U.S. and in Georgia through special weeks of prayer and giving. In 1998 and 1999, we emphasized meeting our goal in one day. It was a special day with mission speaker, music, and dinner. In 1999, the World Mission Offering goal was met and passed with over $12,000.00 given for missions.
Women on Mission groups meet monthly for Bible study,. Mission study and mission fellowship. In addition, there are ministry groups that are ongoing.
